Crescent transformed a long-vacant, deteriorating motel on a major Long Beach corridor into a thriving permanent supportive housing community. Completed under California’s Project Homekey program, the project delivered high-quality housing faster and more cost-effectively than ground-up construction. The development helps individuals transition out of homelessness into stable, independent living with access to on-site support services .

• Outdated infrastructure: Completed a full gut renovation to wood framing and upgraded all building systems to meet modern residential, fire-life-safety, and accessibility standards.
• Site and regulatory complexity: Addressed contaminated soil remediation, structural footing requirements related to a former landfill site, and extensive fire and ADA approvals.
• Community revitalization: Replaced a blighted, vacant property with a secure, staffed community featuring outdoor gathering areas, resident amenities, and on-site services that support long-term housing stability.
